After a recent datamine found reference to a host of new content coming to the game, Nintendo have announced a new update will be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons this week, confirming a lot of the information found in the datamine. This new update will add new merchants, in-game events, and some delightful looking shrubbery. Check out the announcement below.
The free update, which will be dropping on April 23rd, will add two new merchants to the game. Leif will sell gardening equipment at the front of the plaza, including the shrubs that will be added to the game. Meanwhile, Jolly Redd’s Treasure Trawler will dock on the secret beach at the back of every island, and his ship will be packed with furniture and artwork.
Speaking of artwork, Blathers’ museum will be getting a bit of an upgrade too, as this update will add a brand new Art Gallery wing to the museum. You know, because there wasn’t enough stuff to fill your museum with, now you’ve got even more spots to fill.
Finally, the update lays the groundwork for a number of updates coming to the game. Nature Day will last from April 23rd until May 4th, and will reward bonus Nook Miles for nature related activities. Next, the May Day event, from May 1st until May 7th, will allow players to use a special May Day Ticket at the airport to travel on a special tour.
From May 18th until May 31st, the International Museum Day will take place, where players will participate in a Stamp Rally throughout the museum, with the promise of in-game rewards. Finally, the entire month of June is “Wedding Season”, and players can travel to Harv’s island to take special anniversary photos of various characters. Honestly, all of these events sound better than the nightmare that was Bunny Day, so this definitely some good news. Fingers crossed this is just the beginning of more updates that’ll be added to the game over the coming months.
