Animal Crossing: New Horizons Datamine Reveal New Features

Ogdenville needs something new.

Animal Crossing Switch

A recent datamine from the Twitter user Ninji into the files of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has revealed a host of new references to features that might be making its way to the Nintendo Switch hit in the near future.

Ninji’s journey into the game’s files lists a host of features and content that aren’t currently available in the game. For starters, the museum will see a couple of upgrades, including a cafe and shop that appear to be standalone buildings, along with an art gallery. Redd, the art dealer, will also return, though he’ll appear on a ship that docks on the secret beach at the north of the island.

As for the local wildlife, bushes might be making a reappearance, which is good news for anyone looking to tend gardens. Multiple varieties of bush are mentioned, along with various vegetables and a Critterpedia category which contains 33 items (including the currently available manila clam). There’s also references to a third Nook’s Cranny upgrade, and a potential real estate agent and gardening store, though they might be similar to vendors like Kick who visit your island from time to time.

While it’s possible that these references in the game’s files are holdovers from some cut content, we’ve got our fingers crossed that we’ll be seeing more attractions and reasons to play Animal Crossing added to the game in the coming weeks and months.
