Arc System Works and Bandai Namco have announced that their popular 3v3 tag fighter Dragon Ball FighterZ will be receiving a third season of content, the aptly named FighterZ Pass 3, along with a new mechanic that’ll be free for all players that’s destined to completely change the entire structure of the game. Check out the trailer below.
As of now, the only two characters announced for the third FighterZ pass are Kefla and Ultra Instinct Goku. Kefla will launch on February 26th, while Ultra Instinct Goku will be available at some time in Spring 2020, and there will be three additional characters that’ll round out the pass. Who’s betting that there will be another version of Goku in there, just because?
As for the new mechanic, the Z-Assist function will be bolstered in Season 3. Z-Assists let players call in their benched fighters for quick assists, in order to set up combos or punish their opponents, but each character only had one assist. The Z-Assist Select system will introduce three Z-Assists for every fighter, and will give players the choice of assist before each fight, similar to Marvel vs Capcom 3.
As you can imagine, this addition really shakes up the meta of Dragon Ball FighterZ, massively increasing the level of potential match-ups. Are you excited for Dragon Ball FighterZ? Let us know in the comments.
