EVO 2020 Games Line-Up: Mortal Kombat 11 & Melee Miss Out

Nevada is set to pop-off this Summer.

EVO 2020

During the night, the full 9 game line-up for EVO 2020, the premier fighting game tournament taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada from July 31st to August, was announced. While there’s a lot of predictable inclusions, there’s more than a couple of surprises in store. Check out the official tweet below.

The full list of games that’ll be featured on the main stages of EVO 2020 are as follows:

– Super Smash Bros: Ultimate
– Tekken 7
– Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
– Dragon Ball FighterZ
– Samurai Shodown
– Soulcalibur VI
– Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] – Granblue Fantasy Versus
– Marvel vs Capcom 2

Yes, you read that correctly. Marvel vs Capcom 2 will be featured at EVO 2020 as part of a special 8-player invitational tournament, with the awkward title of “2ournament of Champions”. It’s a shocking announcement, but one that honours the history of EVO, and who knows? Maybe we’ll see a new Marvel vs Capcom announcement. I doubt it, but there’s a possibility.

However, the line-up does feature some notable exclusions, including Mortal Kombat 11, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Blazblue Cross Tag Battle. Blazblue CTB has been announced as part of the Community Evolution Tournament schedule, but there has been no announcements made regarding Melee and MK11. Hopefully, both of those games will also be part of the Community Evolution Tournaments as well.
