Sidekick no longer, Luigi’s Mansion 3 has secured the biggest Nintendo Switch launch of 2019, beating out the likes of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Super Mario Maker 2. Let’s be honest though, it’s a record that’ll be easily beaten once Pokémon Sword and Shield come out on November 15th.
Though Luigi’s Mansion 3 might have only come second in the release charts to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which isn’t surprising, this is still an incredibly successful launch for the solo outing of Mario’s sibling. Physical sales are reported to be double that of the 3DS predecessor Luigi’s Mansion 2, and that’s not including digital sales.
Elsewhere in the Top 10 chart, FIFA 20 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are still kicking in the charts at number 3 and 4 respectively, while the almost eternal GTA 5 is at number 9. Here’s the full top 10 list below:
