5 Movies That Would Make Amazing TV Shows

3. Seven Psychopaths

Christopher Walken in Seven Psychopaths

The shamefully underrated follow-up to Martin McDonaugh’s In Bruges, this is a no-brainer for the small screen. There’s plenty of backstory to be fleshed out and maybe even just a contained season which recreates and expands on the events of the film will please black comedy fans. If they can get Christopher Walken back in to reprise his hilariously dry role as Hans, they will have a hit on their hands.

Why it would work: There’s no shortage of avenues to go down and it would definitely have a solid fanbase.

Why it might not happen: Seven Psychopaths was so great because of its cast. A TV adaptation might not be able to draw the same big names.

4. Donnie Darko

The surreal look into the life and times of Mr. Donald Darko has become a cult hit, even its sequel did all it could to fuck things up. Donnie’s awkward interactions were one of the best aspects of the original series and a 10 episode run would give the showrunners plenty of time to explore the pitfalls of high school, creepy bunnies and time travel.

Why it would work: Pretty Little Liars for the alternative scene.

Why it might not happen: A 0% rating for S. Darko on Rotten Tomatoes.

5. Memento

The best film of 2000 seems to get a bigger audience the older it gets. I personally think it’s Christopher Nolan’s best film to date. A television series which opens up Leonard’s life before or after the events of the film’s finale would be a great watch – the small screen would have the best mystery on its hands since Jack Shephard cried his way around a weird island.

Why it would work: If they can get Nolan on-board in a producing capacity, it would be hard to mess up.

Why it might not happen: I can’t see a reason why it couldn’t. It’s almost made for television.
