16 TV Shows to Watch in 2016

Colony

We’re not quite sure what’s going on in Colony, but the trailer seems to suggest some kind of alien occupation in Los Angeles. Sarah Wayne Callies (The Walking Dead) and Josh Holloway (Lost) are parents who get sucked into a war between the aliens and a human rebellion as they search for their missing son. This could go either way but the pilot at least could be worth your time.

Billions

Homeland‘s Damien Lewis and movie actor Paul Giamatti star in this series about a U.S attorney and his cat and mouse feud with a ruthless hedge fund manager. There’s something of a Wolf of Wall Street vibe to Billions, though hopefully the show won’t bend over backwards quite as much to portray its white collar crook in a good light.

Legends of Tomorrow

Imagine if The Avengers wasn’t just one movie every three or four years? Legends of Tomorrow, DC’s television spin off of Arrow and The Flash is a superhero team up show which involves time travel. If you’ve been keeping up to date with its sister shows you’ll probably recognise a lot of its faces. Though production values aren’t movie level, they do look pretty solid.

Lucifer

What happens if Satan just decides to up and retire? That’s what this comic book adaptation asks, as we find Lucifer running a night club and hanging out with normal humans. That is until someone tries to take him out. From its trailer Lucifer looks to be something of a supernatural police procedural, albeit with an extremely charismatic British lead. We’re on board.
