Single of the Week: Bad Breeding – ‘Chains’

I’m going to be quick and to the point, seeing as our SINGLE OF THE WEEK is, and not prattle on in my usual hailstorm of bollocks. Bad Breeding are the prime cut of meat that is our Single of the Week with the vitriolic gunshot that is ‘Chains’.

Bad Breeding are a four, and those four all grew up together in Stevenage. United in rallying against the monotonous tedium that is modern life, as well as the bullshit it’s swimming with. Having been left hanging by dreams and ambitions, this foursome work full time jobs (labouring etc.) by day and channel all their pent up fury into violent slabs of hardcore punk.

In under two minutes, Bad Breeding thrash out rumbling, guttural bass, aggressively, angular guitar riffs, relentless fucking drum, and vocalist Christopher Dodd’s wrath torn bark of utter discontent. The video holds no bars either as Dodd performs anger wrapped up in cling-film as if Dexter were about to lay down his own brand of psychotic justice upon him. The only let up is he has is a hole cut out of his mouth through which to roar into the desolated industrial sprawl he’s been abandoned in.
