You: Season 5 – Release Window, Cast & What You Should Know

Goodbye…..YOU

You: Season 4
You: Season 4

The fourth season of You had Joe trying to settle down in London, leaving his serial stalking habits and identity behind for a shot at a normal life. That didn’t turn out well for Mr. Goldberg though, as it always is the case. By the end of it all Joe descended into complete madness, killing more people than he has ever before, and returning to New York with a clean slate after another takes the fall. But things can’t just end here, You: Season 5 needs to happen so we can finally see whether Joe answers for his crimes or has a happily ever after.

Luckily, Netflix has renewed the show for a fifth and final season. Development on You: Season 5 is currently underway, and we’ve heard numerous rumors about it in the past few months. That said, the fifth season will serve as an epic conclusion to the adaptation of Caroline Kepnes’ dark psychological thriller novels, and if you’d like to know when it arrives, then here’s everything you need to know.

When Is You: Season 5 Coming Out?

You: Season 5 is scheduled to release on Netflix sometime during 2024.

The fifth season entered production earlier in March, and assuming how long it took previous seasons to arrive on the small screen, there’s a good chance that the show will return specifically in Summer 2024.

Five seasons might not be enough for some, but a large part of the audience would hate it if the story drags on and becomes stale after You: Season 5, and frankly, the cast and Netflix seem to agree. Joe has managed to win over Kate, getting millions of assets as a bonus, and a PR team to solve his royal screw-ups if the need arises, but it’s his coming to terms with his dark and twisted mentality which made Season 4’s ending so frightening in a way.

Joe’s addicted to finding true love, which for him is chasing someone new as soon as he commits to a relationship, and then eventually leaving a pile of bodies in his wake. Given his history, don’t be surprised if You: Season 5 has him fall in love again, but since this is the final season, maybe karma kicks in and this time he’s the one on the pointy end of the shiv.

Who Is In The Cast of You: Season 5?

Almost every season of You takes place in a different setting thanks to Joe getting caught one way or the other, and so does the cast change with the scenery. For You: Season 5 however, the story will likely play out in London as Joe’s still with Kate, but there may be a trip to New York if the writers choose to take things back to where it all began.

What that means for the cast of You: Season 5 is that many supporting characters from last season should be returning including Tilly Keeper and Charlotte Ritchie who portrayed Phoebe and Kate respectively. Nadia, played by Amy-Leigh Hickman, on the other hand, went to jail after Joe framed her for murder, whether she’s back is still a mystery, but there’s no one who has a bigger grudge against Joe than her — no one who’s alive anyways.

And of course, without Penn Badgley reprising the lead as Joe Goldberg, there wouldn’t be any You: Season 5. There’s also Tati Gabrielle‘s character Marienne who played a central role in both seasons three and four, and her being as big of a part of Season 5 is entirely possible. Rumors about Jenna Ortega making a cameo as Ellie Alves have surfaced on the internet, but there are reports of scheduling conflicts since she’s busy with the second season of Netflix’s newest global sensation, Wednesday. Whichever road the final season heads down, the show will be remembered as one of the greatest thrillers of all time, and You will sincerely be missed.
