It seems strange to have a vast, relatively expensive science fiction epic attached to Disney that’s not Marvel or Star Wars related. Yet that is exactly what we have with The Creator, the new film from director and co-writer Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and 2014’s Godzilla reboot). With a premise steeped in contemporary issues as it concerns a complex war and eventual showdown between humanity and AI, and some stunning visual FX, it’s safe to say The Creator has everyone’s attention. It will be interesting to see what will happen next if this film does well in theaters.

Led by a brilliant soldier named Joshua (Washington) and his team of operatives, the situation becomes complex when the weapon is discovered to be in the form of a young child (Madeleine Yuna Voyles). Suddenly, the stakes change in dramatic fashion.The Creator offers plenty of action and a sense of visual wonderment that makes it a good fit for a big screen movie theater experience.
