Where To Watch Fleabag

We only know the protagonist as 'Fleabag' - and it's immediately obvious why.

Vulgar, darkly witty, and overly personal, come join a nameless young woman as she staggers through life in London. She’s not looking to ‘have it all’, this isn’t Sex In The City – if anything, she just wants to have something rather than nothing. Here’s where to watch Fleabag in the UK and US.

Fleabag Synopsis

“I’m not obsessed with sex, I just can’t stop thinking about it.”

Fleabag has two seasons. The woman we call ‘Fleabag’ by default runs a small cafe, although it’s as big a mess as the rest of her life. It’s not as if she’s not well aware of this, though. Plenty of shows have toyed with sly, knowing glances towards the camera, but nobody does it quite like Phoebe Waller-Bridge. And she’s given plenty of reasons to do so, especially when she’s opposite Olivia Colman, who here plays a literal wicked stepmother straight out of fairy-tale.

Unlike 99% of the media, in topsy-turvy Fleabag world it is the men who are basically interchangeable and unlikeable, and the women who actually have personalities and character development. The central relationships – despite a lot of potential love interests – are between Fleabag and her sister, or otherwise her dead friend Boo. The latter plays into her frequent asides to camera, giving us, the audience, some idea of what Boo would have had to put up with. Because we’re right there with her, through every selfish act, unworthy thought, and profoundly ill-advised romantic dalliance – which is most of her dalliances.
