Twitch Prime Now Giving Out Free Monthly Games

Superhot

There will come a time pretty soon when nobody needs to buy a new game because of the dizzying amount of subscription services available. There’s Humble Monthly, PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, Xbox Games With Gold, Xbox Game Pass, and EA Access to name a few, and now it’s time for Twitch to throw its hat into the ring.

Starting from tomorrow, Twitch Prime members will be able to download five new PC games each month as part of the (very catchy sounding) Free Games With Prime. All you need to do is be an active member and download the Twitch installer and the games are yours to keep.

A couple of amazing games headline the service’s debut. Superhot is one of the most innovative shooters I’ve played in years and is worth seeking out by anyone who’s bored by the humdrum of standard FPS games. Oxenfree, meanwhile, is a slightly more laidback affair as a group of friends explore a seemingly abandoned island where the supernatural happenings make everyone a little bit weird.

The rest of the month will offer the following:

– Superhot
– Shadow Tactics
– Tales from Candlekeep
– Oxenfree
– Mr. Shifty

And what to expect from April on Free Games With Twitch:

– Tales from the Borderlands
– SteamWorld Dig 2
– Kingsway
– Tokyo 42
– Dubwars

This is a really good initiative to get people to sign up to Twitch Prime, made even better by the fact there is a free trial available — based on appearances, once you download a game from Free Games With Prime, you don’t need to be an active subscriber to still be able to play the games.

If you want to become a Twitch Prime member, all you need to do is sign up with an Amazon Prime account and make sure it’s linked to your Twitch. As well as giving you free new games, Amazon Prime also gives you free delivery on a massive selection of products on Amazon and plenty of other Amazon services are also included. You can sign-up for Amazon prime here.
