Terry Bogard Coming To Fighting EX Layer

Fighting Ex Layer

We’re still trying to deal with the aftermath of the Kaiser Wave of fighting game news that was EVO 2018, but here’s some more for you: Fatal Fury/King of Fighters/Garou: Mark of the Wolves mascot Terry Bogard is joining Fighting EX Layer. Yeah, fighting games are getting crazy.

In a new trailer unveiled by Arika, we get to see some of the future plans for Fighting EX Layer. Firstly, the already announced DLC characters Pullum Purna and Vulcano Rosso will be launching in late August/early September, and will be available for free for all players.

Secondly, Arika confirmed that the game will be getting a full arcade build in Japan and North America, with more details on that forthcoming. In a bout of refreshing honesty, the team admits that the graphic they used to advertise this news was made using photo editing software because the decision was made at the last minute.

The reveal of Terry Bogard only lasted for a few seconds, and we didn’t get to see any real gameplay from him other than his intro, but his inclusion in Fighting EX Layer just continues the weird history of the game. Going from a Capcom endorsed Street Fighter game to a solo venture featuring an SNK character is a strange journey, to say the least.

The trailer concludes with the reveal of two more Arika EX characters, Sharon and Area, though there’s no word on when we should expect them to join the roster. Still, in celebration of the game’s side tournament at EVO, the game is currently on sale on PSN, so if you’ve been tempted to pick it up, now is your chance.
