Sagat And G Joining Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Today

Street Fighter V

We’re still not done with the news coming out of this weekend’s EVO, as Capcom announced that they’ll be rounding out Season 3 of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition’s DLC with Sagat and G both launching tomorrow, August 6th.

Both characters got their own reveal trailers, with G perhaps being the most interesting. We’ll start with Sagat though, who basically plays how you would expect him to: plenty of punishing Tiger Shots, Tiger Knees and Tiger Uppercuts. He also has an actual Tiger in his intro now, because I guess that’s the natural progression of his character.

That said, his V-Skill and V-Triggers give him some new toys to play with. His V-Skill, Angry Charge, sees Sagat clutching his scar, and doing so gives him a boost to the damage and stun of his next Tiger Uppercut. His first V-Trigger, Tiger Charge, gives him the Tiger Cannon move, which is basically a beefier version of Tiger Shot. V-Trigger II, Tiger Assault, gives Sagat a new kick and a better version of Tiger Knee, giving him extra combo opportunities.

Now, let’s talk about the weird lad. G, who is apparently the President of the World, draws strength from the Earth in order to win his fights. As far as his presidential credentials go, he certainly talks the talk, and moves and abilities suggest he can walk the walk. He also has a special costume that suggests a link to fellow Street Fighter mystery man Q.

Firstly, he’s able to use G Charge to increase his “Presidentiality Level”, with higher levels leading to more powerful special moves, though he will lose levels if he suffers a knockdown. His V-Skill, G Barrier, gives him a protective barrier that both absorbs projectiles and launches enemies, making it pretty useful.

As for his V-Triggers, his first one, Maximum President, raises G’s Presidentiality Level to 3 naturally, and his can also launch G Barrier as a projectile. Meanwhile, his second V-Trigger, Dangerous President, gives him two moves: G Explosion, which launches enemies into the air, and G Rage, a powerful command grab.

Both characters will be available for Season Pass holders or to purchase separately from tomorrow, on both PS4 and PC.
