Webtoons might not have been making a name for themselves in the anime-verse — except for Tower of God and Solo Leveling — but on the K-drama side of things, they couldn’t be any more popular. Sweet Home was one of Netflix’s most recent attempts at bringing the horror-apocalypse webtoon of the same name to life with a South Korean adaptation, and it surprisingly broke records worldwide for viewership.

The show kept snagging the top position on Netflix charts for months, and by the time fans finished watching the first season, Sweet Home: Season 2 was the most demanded sequel. As luck would have it, Netflix has confirmed that a second season is in the works, and it already has a release window as well, so here’s everything you need to know about the show’s return.

When Is Sweet Home: Season 2 Coming Out?

Sweet Home: Season 2 is currently scheduled to release in Q4 2023. The good news doesn’t just end there. When the second season was made official with a trailer in June 2022, Netflix also revealed that a third season is in active development too.

Filming for both Sweet Home: Season 2 & 3 wrapped up in March 2023, and for now, a late 2023 release window for the second season is shaping up nicely. It’s been nearly a year since we last saw fresh footage from the upcoming season, and with the release fast approaching, a new trailer should be on the horizon soon.

Everyone was expecting the show to be renewed for Season 2, but the third one sure caught us off guard. The second season is again likely going to have 10 episodes, and while that’s definitely a reason to be happy, but since there will be a third season, odds are that Sweet Home: Season 2 will leave us with another cliffhanger to keep us guessing.

Who Is In The Cast of Sweet Home: Season 2?

While it’s hard to know who exactly will be back in Sweet Home: Season 2, Netflix did state that the entire main cast is returning as well as a few new supporting characters. From the main cast, you can anticipate that all lead actors will continue their portrayals throughout the second — and hopefully the third — season.

Song Kang (Cha Hyun-soo) will again lead our favorite group of misfits as they navigate life through the monster-ridden city. Additionally, both Lee Jin-wook and Lee Si-young will reprise their respective roles as Pyeon Sang-wook and Seo Yi-kyung. And last but not least, the show wouldn’t be the same without Go Min-si (Lee Eun-yoo) and Park Gyu-young (Yoon Ji-soo), but thankfully, they aren’t going anywhere either.

Among the list of new additions to the cast of Sweet Home: Season 2 were Yoo Oh-sung as the military force leader Tak In-hwan, Kim Moo-yeol and Jung Jin-young as soldiers working with Tak In-hwan, and Oh Jung-se as the researcher Doctor Lim.

That’s still only a couple of names, and considering the massive scope of Sweet Home’s sweet horror story, there will be dozens of other new supporting characters joining the main cast, but we’ll have to wait till the second season’s release to get to know who.
