Session To Add Skate-esque Controls, Xbox Release News Imminent

Session

Developers Crea-ture Studios have announced that they will be adding a new control scheme to their Early Access skateboarding title Session. The new controls will be similar to those found in the EA game Skate, which should fill the hole that the lack of a Skate 4 currently occupies in your heart.

Currently, the controls of Session see players using both sticks to control the skaters feet, while using the triggers to distribute weight on the board. It’s a complex system but one that better reflects the realities of skating, but it appears that a new control scheme will be implemented on February 19th that’ll be “more familar”. In Skate, players used the left stick to move and the right stick to perform tricks.

Some Session fans were worried that Crea-ture Studios were completely abandoning their more realistic approach in favour of attracting these “out-of-towners”, but this new control scheme will be available alongside the current one, so it’s up to the player to decide how they want to skate. You know, just like real skateboarding.

Crea-ture have also stated that we’ll be hearing some long-awaited news about the delayed Xbox One release on February 19th. Session was originally supposed to launch into Xbox Game Preview around October of last year, before being delayed until the end of the year. After another delay, it looks like they’re finally ready to bring the game to consoles. Well, a console at least.
