Seraph of the End: Season 3 – Will It Happen?

Looks like the only thing that has ended is the anime

Despite the series being decently popular with some anime fans, Seraph of the End: Season 3 still remains stuck in limbo. The post-apocalyptic vampire anime had a good story, but the execution and poor pacing ended up leaving a bad taste.

Even so, the anime might not ever be as popular as the likes of My Hero Academia, but will it ever return? Unfortunately, there’s been no announcement confirming whether Seraph of the End: Season 3 is under development. The most probable outcome suggests that it’s not, still, here’s every detail about the sequel so far.

When Is Seraph of the End: Season 3 Coming Out?

Seraph of the End: Season 3 has no verified release date or production announcement. And, honestly…we wouldn’t keep waiting.

The latest television instalment, Battle in Nagoya, ended on 26 December 2015. The anime aired twenty-four television episodes across two parts that year, commonly referred to as its first and second seasons. Source

That makes the wait more than a decade long. The official anime website remains available, but we found no announcement confirming another television run.

The manga continuing beyond the anime gives a sequel somewhere to go. It doesn’t tell us whether anyone has agreed to make it, unfortunately.

What Would Seraph of the End: Season 3 Be About? (Spoiler Alert)

The second season adapted the manga till chapter 41, so accordingly, Seraph of the End: Season 3 will continue the story from chapter 42 which is the start of the “Post-Nagoya Arc“. It’ll be about the Shinoa squad trying to regroup after the catastrophic events that recently took place in their lives.

The real motive behind the “Seraph of the End” project is set up, and that slowly builds toward the confrontation between the Shinoa squad and their mentor, Guren, who’s under the mind control of Mahiru.

Which Studio Could Make Seraph of the End: Season 3?

It might be surprising to believe, but Studio Wit actually made the first two seasons of the anime. Yes, Studio Wit as in the same Wit which is behind Spy x Family, Great Pretender, and even Vinland Saga and Attack on Titan when both anime were in their early days.

Likewise, Seraph of the End: Season 3 should be taken up by Studio Wit as well. A while ago, Studio Wit had its fair share of problems with revenue, and due to that, the studio had to drop many of its big hits like Attack on Titan. The studio has recuperated since, but at the same time, it doesn’t seem that they would opt to animate Seraph of the End: Season 3, not unless there was insane demand, which is a bit of bad luck for fans.

Where Could Seraph of the End: Season 3 Be Aired?

The anime was originally licensed by Funimation, and Sony among many other companies. If that still remains the case when Seraph of the End: Season 3 is announced, then you’ll likely find it available to stream on Crunchyroll, Funimation, Netflix, and perhaps even many other services.

Nearly a decade has passed since Seraph of the End was last airing in 2015, and ever since then, the anime has been having a rough time. Either there’ll have to be a huge surge in manga sales or a sudden increase in the anime’s popularity, and while both aren’t impossible, they still feel far-fetched.
