With the August 2021 Underwater update, Rust has seen eight new fish added to the game, complimenting the two different types of fish (Minnows and Small Trout) that were previously available by using traps.
Here are all of the fish that you can catch by using the Fishing Rod in Rust*:
– Anchovy
– Catfish
– Herring
– Minnows
– Orange Roughy
– Salmon
– Sardines
– Small Sharks
– Small Trout
– Yellow Perch
All of these fish can be taken to fishing villages to be sold for Scrap, or eaten for calories.
The worth of the fish depends on the rarity and weight. A Catfish, for instance, will be worth more Scrap and give more calories if eaten than a Sardine.
The type of fish you catch also depends on where you fish and what kind of bait you use, as not all fish will be available in the same body of water.
Rust is available now on PC. *Only the Minnows and Small Trout are available in Rust: Console Edition.
