We’re in full swing of the pre-E3 season, which means the gaming industry is currently leakier than a gunshot riddled boat carrying vegetables. Think about it for a minute. Anyway, one such game might have become victim of these leaks, and it’s the long rumoured Superman game from Rocksteady.
The leak, which popped up on 4chan so make of that what you will, provides what appears to a marketing poster for a game entitled Superman: World’s Finest. DC fans will probably recognise that subtitle, as it refers to the team of Superman and Batman. There have been numerous comics throughout DC’s history using that same name, so it’s safe to assume Batman will play a significant role.
The 4chan post goes into some more detail, stating that it’ll be a single player only game, like Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham series. It’ll also feature other DC super heroes (please include The Question) and that Brainiac is the main villain. Lastly, it’s due to be revealed during the Microsoft Press Briefing on Sunday.
Of course, there’s every possibility that someone on 4chan with decent Photoshop skills and a knowledge of DC history is just taking everyone for a ride, but the good thing is that we won’t have to wait long to find out. The other question is, if this project is indeed real, how will Rocksteady go about making Superman fun? Plenty of games over the years have tried, but none of them really succeeded. We all remember the disaster that was Superman 64, after all.
