Resident Evil 7 Becomes The Series’ Biggest Seller

Nothing scary about these figures.

Resident Evil 7

Capcom have published their sales figures as part of their usual quarterly earnings reveal, with the biggest news from the reveal being that Resident Evil 7 has managed to become the biggest selling game in the entire franchise. Meanwhile, Monster Hunter; World retains the top spot as Capcom’s highest selling game.

Resident Evil 7 has managed shift 7.9 million copies since launch, becoming the second highest selling Capcom game ever made, along with being the best RE title in history to boot. It’s a distinction that RE7 just barely holds, as Resident Evil 5 managed to sell 7.7 million copies and Resident Evil 6 sold 7.6 million. However, Resident Evil 2 Remake has managed to shift 7.2 million in less than two years, so we’ll likely see that claim the top spot eventually.

As for Monster Hunter: World, the game has now sold over 16.1 million copies across PS4, Xbox One and PC, making it an incredibly success for Capcom. Those sales are just including the base game, as the Iceborne expansion has managed to sell 5.8 million copies as well. As for Resident Evil 3 Remake, its sales haven’t managed to crack the top ten, as its sales have paled in comparison to RE2.
