Report: Overwatch Coming To The Nintendo Switch Next Month

According to Kotaku, here's one of tonight's big Nintendo Direct announcements.

Overwatch

One of the big announcements from tonight’s Nintendo Direct appears to have leaked early, as Kotaku are reporting that Overwatch will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch next month, settling what seems to have been weeks of rumours regarding the port’s existence.

The rumours first began when an official Overwatch Switch carry case first found its way onto Amazon last month, but today a European retail leak has emerged over on ResetEra that points to an October 18th release date for Overwatch on the Switch, which would suggest an October 15th release in the US. The leak also points to a Plants vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville release on the same date, which is scheduled to be revealed in under two hours.

While leaks like this don’t tend to mean much on their own, Kotaku have stated that they’ve corroborated the story with two of their sources, both of which have confirmed that it’s true. Overwatch has been out since 2016, and is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and has received regular updates since launch, including the recent role queue feature and the hero Sigma. No word yet on if Overwatch for the Switch will be at the same level of updates, or if this confirms the other rumour of Tracer being in Smash Bros. Ultimate, but we’ll find out more later on tonight.
