Remaster when?

A recent Global Newswire press release has revealed that Remedy Entertainment now own the publishing rights to their popular horror shooter Alan Wake. Microsoft previously owned the rights, but Remedy are receiving a one time royalty payment of €2.5 million and the publishing rights are reverting to the developer.

Alan Wake, released back in 2010, has previously only been available on PC and Xbox 360 (or Xbox One via backwards compatibility), but currently Remedy are developing Control for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Their current focus on multi-platform games could mean we’ll see an Alan Wake remaster on multiple platforms. Personally, I’m hoping for a Switch port, just so I can re-experience the Old Gods of Asgard concert set piece in the palm of my hands.

Of course with Control currently in the final stages of development, scheduled to launch on August 27th, and Remedy currently working on the campaign for Crossfire X when it comes to the Xbox next year, the developers clearly have their hands full already. Still, we can always dream of more Alan Wake. Would you like to see a sequel, or just a remaster? Sound off in the comments.
