It’s been announced that Obsidian Entertainment’s Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition, will be launching on the Nintendo Switch on August 8th, with pre-orders available right now through the Nintendo eShop. Check out the announcement tweet below.

Pillars of Eternity is the spiritual successor to popular PC RPGs like Baldur’s Gate, which is also getting ported to the Nintendo Switch. The Complete Edition includes the base game and all the DLC updates, specifically parts 1 and 2 of The White March, a expansion pack that included a new campaign, an increased level cap and a host of other features.

As for the sequel, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, players are still waiting on an announcement for a console release date, though it is slated to arrive on PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch at some point this year. Between this, Deadfire and all the Dungeons and Dragons RPGs, Switch owners potentially have hundreds, if not thousands of hours of playtime ahead of them.
