Ahead of the official multiplayer reveal on August 1st, Infinity Ward have been releasing a series of teasers regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s online component. While the teasers previously have covered features like the Gunsmith, the most recent tease showcases opening cinematics for multiplayer matches. Check it out below.

The intro, which is reminiscent of the dropship intros from Titanfall’s multiplayer modes, see players descend upon the multiplayer map in a helicopter, with Gun Runner being the map shown in the above video.
While a feature like this might not seem like much, and it really isn’t in the grand scheme of things, it’s exciting for two reasons. Firstly, it adds to the presentation of the multiplayer as a whole, as watching a cinematic is always more interesting than spawning into a map and watching a countdown timer tick down. Secondly, Infinity Ward are touting a full multiplayer storyline and universe that continues after the campaign, so cinematics like this help sell that scenario. That said, maybe I’m just easily impressed. Just look at those shiny guns though!
