We're getting there.

It’s been revealed that the Epic Games Store is now supporting cloud saves, the latest in a long line of requested features that gamers have been asking for since the Epic Games Store first launched. It still doesn’t mean that you can launch Tetris Effect VR without SteamVR, but that’s a whole other story entirely.

Twitter user @ShyXLFT tweeted out that the recent EGS freebie Moonlighter now supports cloud saves, while reddit user u/arctyczyn has also noted that fellow freebie This War of Mine is also supporting cloud saves. The tweet prompted Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney to replying stating that cloud saves are available for a few games, with more work to be done before it gets support across all games.

While it still might be frustrating to gamers to see that the Epic Games Store still doesn’t have some features that its competitor, Steam, has had for ages, it’s reassuring to see that they’re committed to the betterment of the storefront as a whole. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for more freebies, it’s worth noting that Alan Wake and For Honor will be free on EGS from August 2nd, rotating in for Moonlighter and This War of Mine.

Are you excited for cloud saves? What feature would you like to see the Epic Games Store add next? Let us know in the comments.
