PSVR’s Paper Beast Takes You On A Journey To A Mysterious World

Featuring some truly bizarre creatures.

Although it hasn’t been receiving a huge amount of publicity, Paper Beast looks like it could be one of the most unique and visually intriguing indie games of 2019. To get a taste of this very original looking title, you can view a new trailer released by developer Pixel Reef below.

Paper Beast is being directed by From Dust’s Éric Chahi, and takes place in a world where life evolved from computer data and code, resulting in some of the most bizarre creatures you’re ever likely to see. According to a press release from Pixel Reef, the player will not be given clear instructions on how to proceed throughout the game, and you will instead have to rely on interactions throughout the world to progress towards the end.

Judging from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Paper Beast will be light on narrative and will instead focus on offering an aesthetic experience for the senses to wallow in. And make no mistake, it looks beautiful. The first demo will be playable at Gamescom next month, so it won’t be long before we can finally see this unique title in action.

A firm release date for Paper Beast has not yet been confirmed, but it is expected to be released on PS4 and PSVR later this year. Pixel Reef have been offering sporadic updates about the game on their website, so keep an eye out for further information.
