What started out as an interesting event for Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans has turned into a bit of a curse. Bunny Day, which is actually twelve egg-filled days, gives players far too many eggs in lieu of other resources. Now, following some backlash, Nintendo has lowered their spawn rates.
Earlier today (April 6th), the 1.1.4 update went live for Animal Crossing: New Horizons that made eggs appear less often, though the specifics weren’t detailed (thanks to Polygon for the translation).

Having played briefly this morning, I didn’t see the Ride of the Valkyries level of Sky Eggs that I was overwhelmed by previously, and it does appear as if trees drop fewer eggs as well. I am too scared to go fishing for medium-sized fish still, though.
Though the rates have been lowered, they will be upped again for Bunny Day itself on April 12th to allow players to scramble (heh) for all recipes they need. Collecting all of them will result in Zipper giving you a special reward, which is hopefully his permanent disappearance.
While Bunny Day began as a promising event, it hasn’t exactly been set up brilliantly by Nintendo. General player sentiment with Bunny Day is one of frustration, and with another event due late in the month, here’s hoping they get it right.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out not for Nintendo Switch.
