No Man’s Sky Living Ship Update Adds, Well, Living Ships

IT'S ALIVE.

Living Ship

A new No Man’s Sky update has landed today called Living Ship, which, as you might have guessed from the headline to this article and the name of the update itself, adds a whole new class of sentient spaceship to the game. Check out the trailer for yourself below.

The Living Ship update introduces a brand new mission chain in the form of Starbirth. During this sequence of missions, you’ll incubate and hatch a Void Egg, which then becomes your own procedurally generated starship. These ships come equipped with their own range of organic technologies, and you can hatch and evolve procedural upgrades to improve the ship’s capabilities even further.

On top of that, the update also brings with it the chance for a space encounter. When travelling between planets, you might randomly stumble across an object floating in space that’ll contain exotic rewards. You might also find passing trader ships, who you can interact with as well.

No Man’s Sky is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and is certainly a far cry from the game it was when it launched a few years back. The full list of patch notes can be found on the official No Man’s Sky website. Will you be playing the Living Ship update? Let us know in the comments.
