New Towers Game Mode Revealed For WWE 2K19

WWE 2K19

2K have been putting their innovative thinking caps on and have come up with something brand, spanking new for their latest entry into the WWE franchise. Towers is a new game mode which should keep players crawling back for punishment on a daily basis. A series of challenges await as you climb various towers featuring a range of superstars – all with a different shade of difficulty.

There are two different types of towers, Gauntlet and Steps. In the Gauntlet Towers, players must complete ALL of the tasks in one sitting, so there’s no rage quitting allowed. Losing a match will also set you back to square one, so expect some pretty brutal trophies in the near future. Steps grant a more leisurely experience where you can drop in and out as you please.

Some towers will be themed around certain stipulations or eras – for example, a series of cage matches that you can only win via escaping the cage, or having to defeat all of The Rock’s greatest opponents as The Great One himself.

Linked to this year’s new game mode is the previously announced ‘Million Dollar Challenge’, where gamers must complete AJ Styles’ tower and submit a promo detailing why they should be considered a threat to other 2K19 aficionados. Of course, AJ hasn’t made this tower easy for anyone, as there will be NO health regeneration between bouts and all opponents will be set to a harder difficulty than usual.

To keep players coming back to this mode, 2K have introduced the MyPlayer towers which will be refreshed each day, week and month. Players can use their created superstars to gain stars, which grants them access to the pay-per-view themed tower that’ll provide big rewards each month.

So 2K have essentially nabbed one of Mortal Kombat’s unique game modes and thrown some wrestlers into the mix. I for one am excited to give this new mode a try and am very happy to hear that 2K are going to be updating this frequently. With that in mind, it would suggest that there may be more chances for updates and DLC down the line if 2K are to be putting so much time into keeping the shelf-life going.
