New Need For Speed Title Coming This Year, Won’t Be At E3

Will be revealed at a later date.

Need for Speed Payback

There will be a new Need for Speed game releasing in 2019 according to a new post on EA’s official site. Although they gave away no details about an exact launch date, it was made clear that the title will not make an appearance at this year’s E3 or the EA PLAY event as they will not be discussing it at all during the month of June.

“Are you going to hear more about the next NFS title? Yes,” said a statement from DICE employee Ben Walke. “Is it being released this year? Yes. Will we be doing anything in June? No. It’s as simple as that, but we wanted to give you a heads up.”

“With that, know that we’re here, we’re building an amazing game that we can’t wait to show off, and the next time we talk, we’ll be packing our bags and heading south for the full unveiling. We’ll see you then.”

This will be an important entry in the franchise as it will mark the 25th anniversary of the series. The last Need for Speed game was 2017’s Payback, which proved to be disappointing and received a mixed review from critics. According to Walke, this new game will see customisation return as a key component once again and some old traditions return to the fold.
