Mashle

Mashle: Magic and Muscles is a manga made by Hajime Komoto in 2020, and it’s garnered enough of a following to get itself an anime. It’s an action comedy series about a non-magic user, Mash, who lives in a magical world that discriminates against non-magic users. This underdog story will have Mash compete against powerful magic users to achieve equality.

If this sounds like the series for you and you want to know when the Mashle anime release date is, then you’ve come to the right place. Here’s what you ought to know about the upcoming Mashle anime, including when it will release, what it’s all about, and where you can catch it.

When Is Mashle Being Released?

UPDATE MARCH 22nd, 2023: Crunchyroll has confirmed that the Mashle anime will start airing from April 7, 2023.

UPDATE FEBRUARY 21st, 2023: Crunchryoll has announced that the Mashle anime, officially called Mashle: Muscles and Magic, will begin airing on the platform in April 2023.

ORIGINAL: The Mashle anime was first announced with a trailer last July. A new Mashle trailer from the Aniplex YouTube channel has revealed that Mashle will be smashing through your screens sometime in April 2023. The new trailer was first revealed during the Jump Fiesta 2022 in December along with a new key visual for the show.

What Is Mashle About?

Mash Burnedead is a boy that was born without magic. The world he lives in considers people like him to be lesser beings that should be erased to keep the gene pool pure. To get society to accept him, Mash dedicates his life to becoming a “Divine Visionary”. Sort of like the “Wizard King” of this universe.

To achieve his goals, Mash starts attending Easton Magic Academy, a high-class academy where only the best of the best get to thrive. So, of course, Mash will be contending with the most powerful magic users of his age while he himself is magic-less.

He’s not as helpless as he seems, though. Years of training in the forest have given Mash insane physical strength. He’s resolved to somehow solve every problem, magic-related or not, with sheer brute force.

If One Punch Man fused with Black Clover, you get Mashle. Mash has the deadpan looks and absurd strength that make him feel like Saitama while living in a Black Clover-esque universe.

Which Studio Is Making Mashle?

Aniplex, Shueisha, and INSPION Edge will be heading the production, while A-1 Pictures will be animating the show.

Aniplex is one of the most well-known anime producers and has co-produced dozens of top-tier anime like Demon Slayer and FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood since 1995.

Shueisha has been in the business for even longer. It started in 1926 and has co-produced its own set of jaw-droppers like Death Note and One Punch Man.

INSPION Edge is the youngest of the group. It’s only been producing anime since 2018, and the only other show they’ve co-produced is Tomo-chan Is a Girl. It got a 7.54 on Myanimelist though, which shows that the company has great potential.

A-1 Pictures was established in 2005 and has animated tons of amazing anime like Fairy Tail and Kaguya-sama: Love is War

Where To Watch Mashle

The producer, Aniplex, is also the license holder for the show. Aniplex shows are usually available on Amazon Prime Video, Crunchyroll, and Hulu. Though there haven’t been official announcements on where Mashle will be streaming, those are the platforms to keep an eye on.
