March 2021’s PlayStation Plus Games Available Today

Some indie called Final Fantasy 7? Never heard of it.

Final Fantasy VII Remake strikes a fantastic, resonant chord that will leave long time fans and newbies alike wholly satisfied.
Final Fantasy VII Remake

It’s the first Tuesday of a new month, so you know what that means, my dudes: it’s time for the new PS4 and PS5 PlayStation Plus games of March 2021.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is inarguably the biggest game of the month considering it was the biggest RPG of 2020. The huge reimagining of the PS1 classic isn’t loved by absolutely everyone, though it’s hard to say no to a dance competition, especially when it’s included with your subscription. Unfortunately, though, you cannot upgrade this version for free to the PS5 version.

Maquette is the second biggest game of March, just by virtue of being a brand new PS5 game that will launch day and date with Plus. Published by Annapurna Interactive, Maquette is a gorgeous looking narrative puzzler that plays with perspective. Imagine Superliminal, but on a bigger scale with even more gorgeous visuals and you are on the right track.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a Soulslike for PS4 that built up a good following after release with plenty of people loving how it introduced gunplay into the mix. Developed by Gunfire Games, Remnant sees you trying to survive a malevolent growth called the Root in a post-apocalyptic word. Even if you don’t like FromSoftware’s misery sim, this is worth at least trying.

And finally, the PSVR has some representation this month with Farpoint, which never really had the kind of audience you’d expect a virtual reality version of Starship Troopers to have. That’s a great pity as it’s the best FPS on PSVR right alongside Firewall, itself deserving of far more love.

When Do March 2021’s PlayStation Plus Games Go Live?

There’s never usually one specific time each month when new games go live, but they’re typically available by noon depending on your region. If they don’t appear in your PlayStation Store, erm, storefront by then, try using a web browser to add them to your library.

Don’t forget: you don’t have to download a game to claim them, just add them to your library. PlayStation Plus games will be available for as long as you’re an active Plus subscriber. March’s offerings will be up for grabs until April 6th.
