Fall Guys and the Joy of Failure
Fall Guys

If, for whatever reason, you have yet to leap aboard HMS Fall Guys and are subscribed to PlayStation Plus, today is the last day when you can grab the game as part of the service.

Releasing day one as one of PlayStation Plus’ August offerings on August 4th, Fall Guys has enjoyed an unbelievable amount of success, it becoming the king of Twitch and also going on to become the most downloaded PlayStation Plus game of all time. When you consider the games that have released via Plus in the past, that’s a seriously impressive achievement.

For those not in the know, Fall Guys is basically Takeshi’s Castle meets an inordinate amount of stress. Players battle to be the last bean out of sixty to survive through obstacle courses and all kinds of nonsense, including the dreaded Fall Ball. It’s a game that promotes joy through failure for some, utter ego devastation for others.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is both stupidly named and also the other game that is enjoying its last day as part of August’s Plus offerings. It’s an updated version of the best CoD’s single-player campaign, but it unfortunately is not Fall Guys.

Don’t forget that you don’t have to actually download either of the games for them to playable in the future, just add them to your library. Fall Guys will be available from the PlayStation Store for £15.99/$19.99 from September 1st, though you will still need PlayStation Plus to play it.

The PlayStation Plus games for September will go live the same day and time as always on the first Tuesday of the month. The offerings are Street Fighter V and PUBG, which isn’t a bad month at all.
