It’s fair to say that PlayStation Now didn’t exactly blow people away when it was first released. A streaming-only service that cost quite the premium, PlayStation Now’s library was older with most games suffering from input latency and generally underwhelming resolution, as well as the fact that you needed quite beefy internet for it to be feasible.
Sony have worked hard to bring it more in line with the likes of Game Pass, though, adding some really great PS4 games to be downloaded while keeping the option for them to be streamed. While that may have brought more people aboard, the lowering of the price and more recent games being rotated in and out of the service could be seen as Sony’s big push for the Christmas market this year, and maybe even a sign of where they’ll be at for the PS5.
If you’ve always been on the fence about PlayStation Now due to the pricing or just don’t want another subscription service, here’s how you can get cheap PlayStation Now to make it that much more appealing.
How To Get Cheap PlayStation Now
PlayStation Now costs £8.99/$9.99 for one month, £22.99/$24.99 for three months, or £49.99/$59.99 for a whole year, which is considerably cheaper than it used to be.
As with almost every subscription service ever made, you get greater saving the longer you commit to PlayStation Now’s plans. If you’re from the UK, buying a yearly subscription effectively brings the price down from £8.99 a month to just £4.17 a month instead.
Buying a PlayStation Now subscription directly from the PlayStation Store or your dashboard is definitely the most hassle free way to subscribe, though it isn’t the cheapest.
With the introduction of a new price comes PlayStation Now subscriptions being purchasable from retail stores, too. They aren’t currently on somewhere like Amazon or for most online stores in the US, but you can buy them from UK retail.
Reputable online store ShopTo regularly sells games and accessories at lower prices than the norm, and you can currently get a decent discount on PlayStation Now with them.
Instead of costing £49.99, you can get a year-long subscription to PlayStation Now for £39.85, which comes out to just £3.32 a month; just over a third of the usual price.
Sony will no doubt be releasing more PlayStation Now gift cards like these for other regions in due time, so don’t buy the UK if you are from somewhere else as they will not work.
If you’re still not sure about PlayStation Now, don’t forget that you can get a free trial for a week. Don’t also forget, though, to cancel your trial before the week is up or you will be charged.
Subscribing to PlayStation Now is even viable if you don’t have a PlayStation 4 as you can easily set it up to stream PS4 games from your PC.
