Bayonetta 3

With the recent release of the Bayonetta & Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle, along with Platinum’s “Platinum 4” initiative which includes the Kickstarter campaign for The Wonderful 101: Remastered, many have been left to wonder on the status of Bayonetta 3.

The series’ creator Hideki Kamiya recently spoke to the Japanese magazine Famitsu (reported by Siliconera), stating that development on Bayonetta 3 is “progressing smoothly”, and that there’s a lot of ” info hidden in the teaser announcement in 2017″.

The game was originally revealed during The Game Awards of 2017, and the trailer shows the Umbra Witch facing off against a shadowy purple opponent. The assailant fires electric bolts at Bayonetta, who responds in kind with some shots from her pistols, but they’re blocked by an invisible forcefield. The trailer then ends with Bayonetta falling to her knees before the mystery attacker, and dropping her guns to the floor.

Currently, PlatinumGames are working on bringing the Bayonetta and Vanquish 10th Anniversary Bundle to Japan, which is set to launch on May 28th. They’re also working on Babylon’s Fall, an action-RPG developed in partnership with Square Enix, they’re bringing The Wonderful 101 to modern consoles and they still have more unannounced projects in the works as part of Platinum 4. Platinum are definitely spinning a lot of plates, but it’s good to see they haven’t forgotten about Bayonetta 3.
