PlatinumGames yesterday announced their widely rumoured Wonderful 101: Remastered Kickstarter campaign, which aimed to bring the cult Wii U title to modern consoles. Within 4 hours, the campaign smashed through its main goals, meaning the game will be making its way to the PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch.

As you’d expect, Wonderful 101: Remastered is the original game, updated for modern consoles. In an interview with Polygon about the game, Platinum’s Hideki Kamiya stated that these updates include some difficulty level adjustments, along with some better on-screen prompts and the ability to better customise the in-game UI.

At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign is close to breaking through the £800k mark. As for stretch goals, the game will receive a Time Attack mode at $1m, while $1.5m will see the addition of a 2D side scrolling adventure called Luka’s First Mission. There’s still 31 days left in the campaign, with plenty of backing options to boot, so if you’re interested, check it out.

As for the Platinum 4, a new website revealed yesterday ahead of the Kickstarter going live, it turns out that Wonderful 101 is part one of four separate reveals that Platinum have in the works. Whether these other reveals will include already announced games like Bayonetta 3, or contain brand new announcements that Platinum have in the works, remains to be seen.
