How To Enter GTA 5 Cheats

The methods of inputting cheats in GTA 5 are like a composite of methods from previous entries and even other franchises. That’s right, methods. There are multiple ways of activating GTA 5 cheat codes. Something that no other GTA game has.

On PlayStation and Xbox consoles, cheats are triggered similarly to early GTA games. Simply input the codes whenever you want in-game to activate them.

On PC, you need to first bring up the input bar by pressing the tilde (~) or backslash (\) key. Then, type the code you want in the bar and hit enter. If you’ve played Bethesda’s open-world games like Fallout or Elder Scrolls, this is how codes are used there too.

Then there’s also the method of inputting codes through your in-game phone, which was taken right out of GTA IV. Bring up your phone and go to the contacts menu. From there, go to the dial pad, then input and dial the desired code. However, unlike in GTA IV, cheats don’t get saved onto your phone. You have to re-input cheats to deactivate or use them again.

The Best GTA 5 Cheats

The invincibility cheat is incredibly useful in GTA 5. Admittedly, invincibility is not as good as in the previous games since it’s no longer permanent, and it obviously cannot be used in GTA Online. But nothing’s stopping you from constantly reusing it to essentially get the same effect.

The weapons cheat is also very handy in a pickle. Nothing like suddenly being armed to the teeth when you run into some unexpected combat.
