Forza Horizon 3 Will Be Removed From Sale Next Month

Sending it out over the Horizon.

Forza Horizon 3

Playground Games have announced that Forza Horizon 3 is approaching its “End of Life” status, which will see the game removed from sale across Xbox One and PC. The game and all of its DLC will be delisted on September 27th, though those who purchased Forza Horizon 3 before then can still download and play the game indefinitely.

In order to encourage players to purchase the game before it gets removed, both the game and DLC are on sale now at a heavily reduced rate. While the Ultimate Edition of the game is on sale for about £18/$21, it doesn’t include the game’s expansion pass, which features Blizzard Mountain and the Hot Wheels DLC. The Ultimate Edition does include lots of cars, but if you just want more areas to explore, you’re better off buying the standard game and expansion pass separately.

Neither Microsoft nor Playground Games have specified a reason as to why Forza Horizon 4 is being removed from sale, but typically, this happens when a licensing agreement for a piece of music or a car manufacturer has expired. It’s the same process that has happened to Forza Horizon 1 and 2, unfortunately. If anything, news like this highlights the impermanence of digital gaming as a whole.
