Here’s everything you need to know about Winterfest 2022 in Fortnite, including when it starts, what free skins you can expect, and whether you’ll be able to roast chestnuts by an open fire or something to that effect.

 

Fortnite Winterfest 2022 Start Date

UPDATE: Winterfest 2022 is underway right now following the release of v23.10.

ORIGINAL STORY: It is currently unclear when Winterfest 2022 will kick off in Fortnite.

However, we don’t expect it to be on the same date as last year, December 16th, as this year the 16th will see the start of the My Hero Academia collaboration. While they technically could start both on the same day, Epic will probably want to keep the two events separate to give them enough time to shine.

For a rough estimate of when Winterfest 2022 could actually start, look to any time around December 20th, 2022.

 

Fortnite Winterfest 2022 Free Skins & Items

The above image, first leaked by @FortniteJPNews, shows a new skin sat alongside a Jonesy reskin from 2021.

If we had to guess, this female skin will be the free skin for Winterfest, but it’s unclear yet how players can claim it, whether it’s as part of the Winterfest cabin or not.

Otherwise, players should expect a host of other free items just like in previous years, including Back Blings, Gliders, and more. Here’s all of the free items you should expect in Fortnite Winterfest 2022, courtesy of Hypex:

Players can also nab Guff Gringle right now from the Item Shop on PC. Epic is very unlikely to give away V-Bucks, however.

ORIGINAL STORY: Judging from the previous leak, it seems as if the Winterfest thankfully will be returning to the game this year, though this is not yet confirmed.

The Winterfest cabin is a bit of tradition in of itself in Fortnite since being added a few years. It basically acts as a Christmas-themed place in the lobby where players can select from a daily free item and uncover easter eggs. Last year even saw an unexpected Matrix collab. It really wouldn’t be Winterfest without it.
