Fortnite is getting into the festive spirit once again this year with Winterfest 2022, its annual celebration of all things frosty. Players should expect a whole host of content over the course of the event as always, but they can also look forward to a free skin by the name of Guff Gringle.
Here’s a closer look at the free Winterfest 2022 skin.
Guff Gringle is a reskin of Guff that was first released in Chapter 2: Season 2, except with a slightly more Santa-ish design (check out that beard).
Just like last year with the Isabelle reskins, Guff Gringle is a skin that players can get by claiming it from a PC. All you have to do if you play Fortnite on PC is to log in, then claim it from the Item Shop for 0 V-Bucks, or claim it from the platform’s store itself if applicable.
Bear in mind that you don’t even really need to play the game on PC to be able to claim Guff Gringle, as you just need to be able to log-in and don’t have to actually play a match. Any old Chromebook or laptop might do the job if it gets anywhere near the minimum specs required to run Fortnite.
However, if that isn’t an option for you, you may want to try out Geforce Now, which basically streams the PC version of Fortnite instead of requiring you to install it. You can even do this method if you only have mobile.
It’s completely free and all you need is an email address and your Epic Games log-in details, but check out the tutorial below if you need more details.
There is also a slightly more complicated version that will let you claim the Gruff Gringle skin (and all other free EGS exclusive items) without you needing to install Fortnite on your PC, but it is slightly more complicated. Check out the video below for a tutorial.
Gruff Gringle is available for free in Fortnite from December 13th, 2022 until January 3rd, 2023.
