Fortnite Season X Smash and Grab Challenges Available Now

Quite the boring week.

Fortnite Mysterio#

With a new weeks comes a new set of challenges for Fortnite Season X. Well, that’s not strictly true: challenges have been rebranded as themed “Missions” each week. Week 4 houses some new challenges, this time in the form of the Smash and Grab missions.

Completing Smash and Grab missions will reward players with progress on their Season X Battle Pass, as well as some separate cosmetic rewards for meeting set criteria. For instance, if you have completed x amount of Smash and Grab missions, you will be rewarded with x item or XP boost. It’s a twist on the system that blends the traditional Fortnite challenges with the incentivisation seen with Season 9’s Fortbytes.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new Smash and Grab challenges for Fortnite Season X.

Smash and Grab Normal Challenges

You unlock these challenges one after the other, so you unfortunately cannot just blitz through them in one sitting.

Search a chest within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (3)
Land at a Hot Spot in different matches (3)
Deal damage within 30 seconds after using a Launch Pad (100)
Search 2 chests within 30 seconds of each other (3)
Pick up a Legendary item in different matches (2)
Search a Supply Drop within 10 seconds of it landing (3)
Deal damage to opponents at Hot Spots (200)

Smash and Grab Prestige Challenges

These Smash and Grab prestige challenges are only available after you complete all of the regular challenges. Similarly, you must also unlock them sequentially.

Search a chest and an ammo box within 30 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (3)
Destroy Loot Carriers within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (3)
Eliminate an opponent within 30 seconds of using a Launch pad (1)
Search 3 chests within 30 seconds of each other (1)
Pick up 3 Legendary items in a single match (3)
Collect 100 of each material within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus (100)
Eliminate an opponent at a Hot Spot (3)

A terrifically bland week for Fortnite challenges all told, providing almost no content for guide writers and YouTubers across the globe, of which there are a lot. All of these are challenges that you can achieve without too much fuss or a guide, though they do get significantly more difficult when you jump into the Prestige challenges. Destroy Loot Carriers within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus seems like it might be hard work, along with Collect 100 of each material within 60 seconds after landing from the Battle Bus.

That said, the changes to challenges to this season have been mostly good, even if the comparative lack of scavenger hunts and interesting missions makes proceedings a bit less investing. You do now have more challenges than ever, however, which has led to a lot of Fortnite fans being able to grind through their Battle Pass far quicker than usual.
