Fortnite Season 9 Week 2 Challenges: Vents, Pianos, Dancing Fish & More

All you need to know.

Fortnite Tactical AR 5

Another week, another set of Fortnite weekly challenges. For the second week of Fortnite Season 9, we have a decent variety of challenges with none being too challenging at all. It’s a decent mix of exploration and elimination based challenges this time out.

Here are all of the free and Battle Pass challenges for Fortnite Season 9 Week 2, which should help you get to Vendetta before Season 10 rolls around.

Fortnite Season 9 Week 2 Free Challenges

Launch off of Air Vents in different matches (5)
There are Air Vents in pretty much every named location with futuristic elements, such as Mega Mall Retail Row (it will never be Mega Mall to me goddamnit), Neo Tilted, and Loot Lake. You can’t miss them as they are usually found on top of buildings and give you protection from fall damage. All the Sky Platforms have them, if that makes things easier.

Land at Snobby Shores
Land at Fatal Fields
Land at Sunny Steps
Land at Dusty Divot
Land at Happy Hamlet

I hate these kind of challenges. They are all named locations so they are easy to find, but you needing a minimum of five matches for such a small return in terms of BP progression is a massive pain in the backside.

Eliminate opponents in Sunny Steps or Shifty Shafts (3)
Both of these are low traffic spots, but won’t be this week, that’s for sure. My recommendation would be Sunny Steps. Shifty’s not great for loot, and Sunny allows for much more opportunities and you not hiding in fear underground as you’ve only found a grey pistol.

Fortnite Season 9 Week 2 Battle Pass Challenges

Deal damage with Pistols to opponents (500)
Speaking of pistols, this is one of the easiest challenges you will ever find in Fortnite, especially in the early game. If you can find either a Deagle or an Epic Suppressed Pistol, you will be laughing with this one. Remember: damage does not mean elimination.

Visit an oversized Phone, a big Piano, and a giant Dancing Fish trophy (1)
We have a longer guide for this one in the works, but in short: the Phone is near Lucky from the Season 8 challenge, the Piano is near Lonely/the old superhero mansion, and the Dancing Fish has moved from Retail Row to those two houses not for away at all.

Search a chest in different named locations in a single match (3)
The easiest way to do this is to land in the snow biome, which has just straight up died in Season 9. Land at Happy Hamlet, find a chest, then make your way to Polar Peak and Frosty Flights for a chill path to do this.

Eliminate an opponent from at least 50m away (1)
Eliminate an opponent from at least 75m away (1)
Eliminate an opponent from at least 100m away (1)

An awkward one, but just remember 50m and 75m is SMG range, anything over 100 typically needs an AR/Sniper.

Elsewhere in Fortnite land, don’t forget that there are the Wick’s Bounty challenges to try your hand at, which will give you free John Wick swag for completing them.
