Fortnite Season 8 Guide: Visit All Pirate Camps & Pirate Camps Locations

Where are all the pirate camps in Fortnite Season 8? We tracked down all seven for a simple walkthrough just for you.

Fortnite Season 8 doesn’t just introduce map changes and a new jungle biome, but also a new ‘storyline’ (as they do every season). Season 8 has a focus on pirates and piracy (not the boring internet kind). In the same way Season 7 introduced ‘expedition outposts’ across the wider map (mostly to keep the older area’s relevant), Season 8 introduces ‘pirate camps’.

The expedition outposts were built-in, rarely visited areas of the map as an illustration of the ‘intrepid explorer’s spirit’ (also to generate traffic in other areas of the map). The pirate camps on the other hand aren’t ‘new structures’, they’re older map buildings ‘co-opted’ by the pirates, built-up and reinforced. A very pirate like thing to do, I’d say. Put differently, the pirate camps are older buildings redesigned to fit Fortnite Season 8’s theme and to keep older parts of the map relevant in the same way expedition outposts did.

There are seven pirate camps on the map (same amount as expedition outposts) and the challenge requires that you find all seven, just like Season 7’s version. You can find all seven over as many games as it takes, but you do need to find all seven unique locations of them. As you can imagine, most of them will be in the older central and northwest region of the map, though you will find one in every biome. Below is a map of all the Fortnite pirate camp locations circled in red.

Three of the camps are in the older region of the map, one is the snow biome, one in the desert biome, one in the jungle and one on the edge of the jungle and old map biome. They’re all relatively spread out and often occupied at the beginning of the match as all the curious players come to check out the changes. All the forts are identifiable by the fact they have a pirate flag with a Kraken being flown at their peaks (Lazy Lagoon has one, but isn’t counted as a ‘camp).

Fortnite Desert Border Pirate Camp

Fortnite Pirate Camps

This is the most imposing pirate camp of the bunch. South of Retail Row where the grassland bleeds into the desert, there is a collapsed bridge. The buildings on the desert side of the bridge has been built up into a large pirate fort (it’s a fort not a camp, it’s massive). You can find it at H7 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite Jungle Lazy Lagoon Pirate Camp

In the new biome there is a new named location called Lazy Lagoon. To the northwestern side of this lagoon (east of The Block) is a pirate camp atop a hill, overlooking the same lagoon. E2 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite Jungle Volcano Pirate Camp

This pirate camp is also situated in the new biome. Particularly hard to miss this one as it’s halfway up the volcano’s incline on the southwestern side (just north of the lava river), sitting in plain sight. Just inside H4 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite ‘Old World’ Pleasant Park Pirate Camp

To the west of Pleasant Park is a spooky forest that had a dilapidated ‘haunted house’. Apparently pirates ain’t ‘fraid of no ghosts, because they’ve co-opted it and built a fort over the top of it. B4 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite ‘Old World’ Dusty Divot Pirate Camp

Another dilapidated ‘veteran’ building that’s been invaded by the pirate crew. West of the Dusty Divot warehouses is an old destroyed building that’s been there since the beginning of time. On the bright side it’s been fixed up, reinforced and improved thanks to the pirates. You can find it on the border of E5 and F5 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite ‘Old World’ Salty Springs Pirate Camp

Once again we have another old world building repaired and armed to the gills. Southwest of Salty Springs, northwest of Fatal Fields is a large hill that overlooks both. Traditionally this hill has been home to a rather damaged house for many seasons now– not any longer. You can find this on the border of E8 and F8 on the main map’s grid.

Fortnite Snow Border Pirate Camp

The final pirate camp you’ll find where the grassland becomes snowed over. Southwest of Tilted Towers, northwest of Shifty Shafts, is a small house converted into a pirate camp that overlooks the frozen lake where Greasy Grove used to be. C6 on the main map’s grid.

Visiting all seven in a single match is fairly unlikely with the removal of the X-4 Stormwing, so it’ll probably take you a few matches to get them all. Doubly so with how dangerous the jungle biome is at the moment (a damnable bloodbath). Just make sure to not quit out of a game unless it’s over (i.e. you’ve been eliminated or you won) because you won’t keep the credit you earned.

Challenges for the first week of Season 8 have been quite interesting so far. The ‘giant face’ challenge is another challenge designed to keep players exploring the older parts of the map during the earlier weeks so the volcano doesn’t erupt under the sheer pressure of 100 players in close proximity. The volcano vent challenge helps players explore the new biome, keeping the Week 1 Battle Pass gamut interesting. Happy pillaging.
