Fortnite Season 6 Guide: Week 9 Battle Pass Challenges Walkthrough

A quick run-through of all you need to do for your Fortnite Season 6 week 9 Battle Pass challenges.

Fortnite season 6

Fortnite Season 6, Week 9’s challenges have touched down on time. Usual rules apply, three of the challenges are free (not requiring a Battle Pass) and the other four still require the 950 V-bucks investment. The usual rules regarding multi-stage challenges still apply. That is, you can only complete one stage of a challenge per match and must finish (not leave) that match to receive the next stage.

Someone this week at Epic is explosion happy as this week’s challenges are are very heavily focused on explosives. Four of the seven challenges (all Battle Pass challenges) are dedicated to blowing shit the up. Of the other – less manic – three, two are quite unique to Fortnite. The first of these is a challenge requiring 30 seconds of airtime in a vehicle. The second is the carnival clown boards, which is very similar in practise to the Clay Pigeon’ challenge.

Fortnite Season 6: Week 9 – Free Tier Challenges

Get 30 seconds of airtime in a vehicle (30 seconds)
At first this might seem insane, but they mean 30 seconds of cumulative airtime. That means you can do it over as many jumps as required (and as many games). Whether that be 30 one second jumps or one monstrous 30 second jump (which is probably impossible). The easiest way to get airtime however, would be to drive a vehicle through a Rift. That will net you a hefty chunk of airtime alone. Combined with the fact that Rifts often spawn in groups, you can get this done in 2 minutes easily.

Get a score of 10 or more on different carnival clown boards (3 times)
As mentioned earlier, this is a different take on the ‘Clay Pigeon’ skeet shooting challenge. Scattered around the map at carnival clown boards, you need to play the minigame at these boards to accumulate points. Once you get ten points at a specific board, you’ll receive credit for that board. You need to go through this process at three different clown boards. We have you covered if you’re looking for a more in-depth guide on the clown board locations.

Multi-stage: Accumulate shields (4 stages)
Pretty much identical to Week 7’s ‘healing’ challenge. Rather than health though, this one focuses on shields. The first stage of this challenge requires you eat five shield shrooms (the blue mushrooms). The seconds stage, requires you to gain 75 shields from small shield potions, which is coincidentally the amount a single stack (3) of shield potions give, if you manage to take damage after drinking two. The third stage requires you to gain 100 shields with the normal sized shield potions, which give fifty a pop, so two potions in total. The final stage requires you to gain any amount of shield using a Chug Jug.

Fortnite Season 6: Week 9 – Battle Pass Tier Challenges

Fortnite season 6 2

Deal damage to players with a Clinger, Stink Bomb or grenade (300 damage)
This challenge has been a reoccurring challenge across multiple seasons now. Rather straightforward, it asks you to do 300 damage with any kind of thrown grenade (the Grenade Launcher doesn’t count). As it only requires you to do damage, you can always use them on downed player (in Squads or Duos only) to nab some easy damage.

Deal damage to opponent structures with dynamite (10,000 damage)
Another damage based challenge with explosives. You’re required to use a new item, dynamite, to do 10,000 cumulative damage to opponents structures. It can be done over as many games as required to complete the challenge, just make sure you’re not bombing your own structures or pre-built buildings.

Rocket or grenade launcher eliminations (3 eliminations)
This is Week 9’s elimination challenge, also with an explosive twist. You’re required to get three eliminations with either a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher. The hardest part with this type of challenge, is of course finding the weapon as once you find one the potential for mayhem is almost guaranteed.

Multi-stage: Deal damage with grenades to opponents (3 stages)
The final explosive related challenge for the week, with this one being multi-stage. Basically a sequential version of the three other Battle Pass challenges. You’re asked to do a 100 damage with different types of explosive weapons in a particular order. The first stage asks you to do 100 damage with ‘grenades’. This can be misleading as it does not mean the traditional grey quality grenade, but rather any thrown explosive (this includes; Clingers, Stink Bombs, grenades and dynamite). The second stage requires you to do 100 damage with grenade launchers. The final stage, of course, is to accrue 100 damage with a rocket launcher.
