Primal Weapons were introduced in Fortnite: Chapter 2 – Season 6, changing the game forever. But what are Primal weapons, and how do you use them in Fortnite?
In the simplest terms, Primal weapons are a weapon type, one of three new ones introduced in Season 6: Makeshift, Primal, and Mechancial.
Primal weapons are crafted from Makeshift weapons with Animal Bones, which you can get by hunting any of the wild animals that are dotted around the Fortnite island, including boar and wolves.
You can also find Primal weapons in most places where loot spawns, such as in chests. Primal weapons include the Primal Rifle and Spire Assassin’s Primal Shotgun, though that one isn’t one that you can craft.
Here are all of the Primal weapons we have encountered so far, with many more out there:
– Primal Revolver
– Primal Rifle
– Primal Shotgun
– Primal SMG
But how did they get in Fortnite, and why? I essence, they are handmade versions of weapons, not unlike those seen in Rust. It’s all thanks to the Zero Point, which exploded at the culmination of the Zero Crisis Finale, wiping out any advanced technology on the Fortnite island.
Time will only tell if Primal weapons exist beyond Season 6, but one thing’s for sure: it’s never going to be quite the same game again.
