With Fortnite Season 6 now underway, dataminers are doing all the can to dig apart the files for the game and see what they can find. We’ve already discovered that the cube may start growing, but we may also be about to see the Freeze Trap introduced to Battle Royale.
Known for being in Save The World, the Freeze Trap has been located in the Athena directory for Battle Royale, which is typically where all of the new and upcoming content is found ahead of time. You can check it out below.

This suggest that it work very similar to the standard (and classic) Fortnite traps as well as the Bouncers (RIP) in that they will be able to be placed on any flat surface. It will make a nice change from having just the one damage-dealing trap if true.
However, truthfully: this is a little underwhelming. They sound nowhere near as fun as the Bouncers, which it seems were taken out of game to make way for the Freeze Traps. Personally, I’d love to see them bring back the Ceiling Zipper in a way so that it isn’t completely useless.
Only time will tell if this trap is added to the game, but these datamined files rarely fail to be on the money. The long-gestating pets (which is a sentence I never thought I would type) have finally be added for Fortnite Season 6 with another memorable introduction being the Shopping Cart as a vehicle many months after they were found in files.
