Fortnite: How To Get Aloy’s Horizon Zero Dawn Skin For Free

In a bit of a surprise move that makes a lot of sense when you think about it, Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy will be coming to Fortnite as a skin. If you don’t want to slap your hard-earned V-Bucks down in the Item Shop, there is a way to the Aloy’s Horizon Zero Dawn cosmetics for free in Fortnite: the Aloy Cup.

The Aloy Cup is a Duos tournament that is exclusive to those on PS4 and PS5; you won’t be able to compete on any other platform. While this might be disappointing, it does make sense as Horizon is a PlayStation property and they have a sequel to promote. It was also announced that Sony had funded Epic even more, meaning that their relationship is probably stronger than ever.

When Does The Aloy Cup Take Place?

The Aloy Cup will take place on Wednesday, April 14th, 2021 with timings varying per region.

You will be able to play a total of ten matches across a three hour window before the cup finishes. Be sure to be logged in well before the tournament takes place to make sure you don’t miss out, as well as that you have 2FA enabled, and your Epic account is also at level 30. As mentioned, this will only be available to PS4 and PS5 players.

 

How Do I Unlock the Aloy Skin For Free?

To unlock Aloy along with other cosmetics, you must earn more points than other teams by gaining eliminations and placing higher overall. You can even get bonus points for using a bow, Aloy’s weapon of choice.

Europe
1st – 800th: “Horizon Zero Dawn” In-Game Cosmetic Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Glider, Wrap, Loading Screen and Emote.

NA East
1st – 500th: 1st – 500th “Horizon Zero Dawn” In-Game Cosmetic Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Glider, Wrap, Loading Screen and Emote.

NA West
1st – 200th: “Horizon Zero Dawn” In-Game Cosmetic Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Glider, Wrap, Loading Screen and Emote.

Brazil
1st – 200th: “Horizon Zero Dawn” In-Game Cosmetic Outfit, Back Bling, Pickaxe, Glider, Wrap, Loading Screen and Emote.

Asia

Victory Royale: 35 points
2nd: 29 points
3rd: 26 points

Each elimination will also be worth 2 points. For an interesting change to the formula, eliminations with a bow will also net you 8 points. That’s four times as many as normal eliminations, so that’s definitely going to be the way to go.

Will Aloy Come To The Item Shop?

Aloy will indeed come to the Item Shop on April 16th, 2021. While we don’t officially know the price of her just yet, she should be around 1500 V-Bucks if the price of Kratos is anything to go by. All of the other cosmetics will also likely be a part of a bundle or sold separately.
