Developers Saber Interactive have announced that the first wave of significant content updates for the popular co-op zombie survival shooter World War Z will be arriving on PS4, Xbox One and PC on June 3rd, and the DLC will be free to all current and future players, which is lovely.

As mentioned in the tweet above, the first content drop includes the third Tokyo mission, properly rounding off that episode of the campaign, an FOV slider, private lobbies allowing you to play with your friends without random intrusions, and a special new zombie. Previously mentioned in World War Z’s roadmap, the new zombie type can spit a deadly virus at survivors, and can resurrect if it isn’t properly dealt with.

Beyond June 3rd, Saber Interactive have plans to introduce a new six skull difficulty setting that’ll offer unique rewards, along with weekly challenges and cosmetics. Even further in the future is a horde-style wave survival mode, and we’re hopeful for some additional campaign episodes to boot. Either way, Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive are clearly invested in World War Z’s future, and we’re excited to see more.
