First Trailer Released For Yakuza 4 Remastered

Yakuza 4

It’s been a busy day for SEGA. Along with announcing that Team Sonic Racing would be getting delayed until May 2019, they have also revealed a new gameplay trailer for Yakuza 4 Remastered, which is scheduled to launch on PS4 in Japan early next year.

The trailer above, which is all in Japanese, showcases the four protagonists, Kazuma Kiryu, Masayoshi Tanimura, Shun Akiyama and Taiga Saejima all beating up street thugs and dealing with another case of missing money. Those silly Yakuza, always misplacing their ill-gotten gains.

The most interesting part of the trailer is the complete redesign of Tanimura, whose voice actor had to be completed recast after the original, Hiroki Narimiya, retired from voice acting. Tanimura’s design was based on Narimiya, but he has been changed to better reflect the new actor, Toshiki Masuda.

Yakuza 4 Remastered was scheduled to launch in the autumn of this year, but was pushed back to January 17th 2019, with Yakuza 3 re-launching earlier this year and Yakuza 5 scheduled to come out in the Spring. None of the three game have been confirmed for a release in the West yet, but with the growing popularity of the series, SEGA would be foolish not to bring us more Yakuza goodness. We’re not obsessed with the series. Shut up.
