We’ve been watching the production of Mad Max: Fury Road with some interest here at Cultured Vultures for some time, ever since the first shot of Tom Hardy as the eponymous character was released.
Now that the first proper glimpse has been had at SDCC, we know a little bit more about the post-apocalyptic world that Max inhabits but little to nothing about the man himself. Plot points are hard to distinguish from the high-octane trailer but it seems like it may be the lawmaker’s breaking point.
Richard Ayoade summed up the action heavy trailer perfectly.

Plenty of time is given to Charlize Theron’s character and refreshingly, it looks like there aren’t as many special effects as you’d expect. The back-to-basics look of it all is reminiscent of the very first entry in the series and it’s most welcome. We are even more pumped for this than we were before.
Roll on 2015.
